Policy Forum: Electoral Law – How to reach a compromise?

We are pleased to inform you that the Monitoring Centre and the Institute Alternative are organizing a panel discussion, “Electoral Law – How to reach a compromise?” with special emphasis on issues related to citizenship and voting rights, ie, authentic representation of minorities.

Panelists of this discussion will be:

  • Mr. Milutin Simović (DPS),
  • Mr. Kemal Purišić (BS),
  • Mr. Vasel Sinishtaj (AA),
  • Mr. Aleksandar Damjanović (SNP) and
  • Mr. Rifat Rastoder (SDP).

It is planned that the panelists present their views on the topic that is relevant in the context of harmonization of electoral legislation with the Constitution of Montenegro, as well as in relation to the recommendations of the European Commission that need to be fulfilled in order to obtain the date of starting accession negotiations.

The panel will be attended by representatives of the civil sector, academic and professional community, students and media representatives. Panel will be moderated by the journalist Dragoljub Duško Vuković.

This is the second panel in the series, as well as continuation of the POLICY FORUM, which assumes the periodic maintenance of the panels on various topics.

The panel will be held at the Press Center (Josip Broz 23A Street) on Friday, 01 July 2011, starting at 18h. We invite all those that are interested to participate in the event and contribute to the discussion on this important topic.
