Every violation of the law — especially acts of violence resulting in serious harm or loss of life — must be efficiently investigated and prosecuted. Guilt is always individual. In a civilized society, there can be no justification for inflicting suffering on others out of revenge.
Ministry of the Interior and the National Security Agency are obliged to provide clear answers regarding the causes and consequences of violent attacks and violent reactions. The Government bears responsibility for providing a timely and coordinated response to threats to public safety — not ad-hoc or reactionary crisis management.
Media, political, or street campaigns targeting any “domestic” or “foreign” national or religious community are unacceptable in a democratic society.
State policies, decisions, and laws must be adopted in an atmosphere of reasonable, fact-based public debate.
The question “How is our country managing the inflow of foreigners?” is a legitimate and necessary topic of discussion. Such a discussion must rely on accurate data covering all relevant foreign policy, security, economic, administrative, and other aspects. However, it should never be forgotten that this is a highly sensitive issue — one that evokes strong emotions — and that migration policy is always vulnerable to the influence of foreign states and transnational organized crime.
